The Three Roses

by Annalise

Tiny, dark, yet full of power,
In the petal of a flower.
Black with hate and growing sin,
Lies the secret deep within.
Envy, malice, slain again,
Bonded by a single chain
Evil mingles, thrives and grows,
Living in the dim black rose.

Friendship, love and full of grace,
Warmed there sitting in it's place.
Bringing cheer and greatest joy,
Something nothing can destroy.
Soft and smooth, a pretty bloom,
Nothing this can bring it gloom.
In the midst the beauty grows,
Prospers in the crimson rose .

Humble beauty, meekness lies,
Not one can it despise.
Showing grace and brokeness,
Veiled in love, with joy caressed.
Smiling in the midst of pain,
All the knowledge it contains.
Purity from within it flows,
Out all around the snow white rose.
