Did You Love Me?
Sleepinginside the warmth that you gave,
I didn't need more than just you.
Safe and secure and wanting for nothing,
My cares and concerns were so few.
I loved you with every thought that I had,
And I'd never doubt you at all.
But you proved me wrong when you sighed with a tear,
Your guard became weak and you'd fall.
I think that this choice that you made was so wrong,
Giving me up without thought.
Was I simply nothing at all to you,
What did I lack that I brought?
I did not choose to come here with you,
You made that mistake on your own.
But why did you think for even a moment,
That you could forsake and disown.
I never would will that the pain I went through,
Would come there and strike you hard down.
And although I loved you until I was gone,
I'm happy and wearing a crown.
I'll look down on you for all of the times,
That not even hope now can mend.
But I will still love you no matter the cost,
Though you'll never hold me again.
