Lost The Game
I thought I really had it all,
I didn't know till it was gone,
That what I had was all there was,
I let it sit there for too long.
And now I know that I can't be,
What others want to see in me.
I'll try to find some way out,
Or see what this life's about.
And soon I'll be another face,
On the billboard sign again,
And it will say beside my name,
He died alone, he lost the game.
The game I played and thought I won,
I really didn't win, how come?
Won't someone say what I want to know,
Could someone find a way to show,
And tell me how I came this way,
I want to know before today.
And maybe then I'll see the truth,
And realize that I was a fool,
For going with the biggest croud,
I never said my words aloud.
And now I'm gone and no one cares,
They think the life they have is theirs.
I'd like to say that they don't know,
It's nothing that they really own.
