Well this doesn't seem like a horrid phobia to suffer from not until you order your Hash Steak and get a rich serving of vegetables with it. Normally it's mainly greens that people have a fear of but in some cases women have known to have fits and nausea just looking at any vegetable.
Women suffer more from this phobia primarily because of aversion towards the housewife syndrome among other things. Since veggies are related to cooking so much in our culture it is natural that ladies suffer from this phobia mostly. Though you will find a male chef or two in America that avoids the vegetable market altogether on his shopping trip.
