Their has always been paranormal stuff surrounding my life. It's like I have been raised on ghosts! One thing happened to me only a few months ago that has rattled me a bit, and I am not one to be easily rattled. It was right after Christmas and me being a night owl I was up well past midnight. I turned off the T.V. and resigned myself to clean up a few dishes that were laying on the counter so that my mom wouldn’t yell at me in the morning. So I head into the kitchen and flip on the radio. The Christmas tree was still up and the lights hadn’t been turned off yet. Neither were the lights wound with the garland going up the staircase railing. Our house is very open and going from our kitchen into our living room, along the wall our sink is on is a cut out shelf. It’s nice because then you can see the living room from the kitchen and vice versa. I was standing in my kitchen with only a few lights on. The light from below our microwave, the Christmas Tree and the garland light which was to my right. I was standing at the dishwasher next to the sink and reached up to grab a glass to put in the machine. My shadow was reflected onto the wall at my left and I saw the movement of my arm to my cup and back down, but as I brought my arm back to me another shadow kept moving across the patch of light on the wall. It was a large shadow, and thick. I saw it move in the corner of my vision but it was unmistakable as a shadow. This startled me and my practical side kicked in. I tried in vain to re-create the shadow movement on the wall with my arm and my cup, to no avail. Completely jolted I hurriedly finished putting my dishes away, turned off all the lights (Christmas Tree and garland lights included) and went to bed.
So many weird things happen in our house that now-a-days when things happen I usually keep them to myself. But this was just to weird. A few nights later my brother and I just happened to be in the kitchen at the same time, during the late hours of the night and by chance started talking about spooky stuff. I explained to him what had happened to me and like myself he wanted to figure out what could have caused it. So again I was standing in front of the dishwasher with only the Christmas Tree lights, the garland lights, and the light below the microwave on. I showed my brother the motion that I used to reach for my cup and he decided that my shadow had been caused by the light under the microwave. He then stood close to the garland lights in the hall way and slowly walked towards where I was standing at the dishwasher. I told him to stop when I saw his shadow get as dense as the one I had seen the other night. He then moved off away from me in the direction of the Christmas Tree. His shadow looked almost looked identical to the one I had seen! The only difference was that the shadow I saw was much larger then his and he isn’t a little boy anymore. My brother then pointed out to me that whatever had made the shadow was standing kitty-corner, about a foot or two away from where I was standing at the dishwasher. When he pointed out this fact I felt the chills run down my spine and goosebumps raise on my arms. Who knows how long it had been watching me! I’m still not really scared of anything in our house, not even of my shadow person. It’s just a little eerie to know your being watched by somebody you can’t see.
